Feng Shui theory uses the natural sciences to create the art of
its design applications. While Feng Shui is viewed as a science,
it is interpreted as an art form. The natural science of Feng Shui
is the detailed analysis of the four directions, earth energy and
geographic details. The art of Feng Shui is the experience of how
to best implement the suggested remedies of transforming negative
or stagnant energy into balanced, positive energy. Just as the Earth
and all living creatures are constantly moving and changing, so
are the energies of Feng Shui. There are a lot of benefits to having
a proper Feng Shui analysis performed. People have reported increases
in wealth and love, and significant improvements in health.
Feng Shui literally translates from Chinese as "wind water."
Feng Shui balances the flow (wind) and containment (water) of Chi
(energy) and of yin and yang (harmonious opposites) in our environments,
deflects harmful energies, and maximizes positive energy flow. Principles
are based on a fundamental understanding of the cyclical nature
of energy patterns, which create harmony between Earth and humans.
Feng Shui interprets a "pattern language" of natural forms
and phenomena, man-made buildings and symbols, with the workings
of the universe.
For thousands of years, Chinese Feng Shui masters have studied
natural and man-made environments and their impact on people. Knowing
that the elements of nature and the stresses of modern society affect
the quality of our lives, they learned how to create harmonious
environments, which, by their very design, attract the best possible
health, wealth and supportive relationships.
Based on the underlying principles of universal cycles of change,
Feng Shui is a system of design principles used by leading edge
professionals in architecture, interior design, and natural healthcare
(among others) to positively influence family, health, relationships,
harmony and prosperity. Feng Shui can enhance both new and existing
corporate offices, businesses, and residences.
Ancient Feng Shui masters learned how to balance people with their
environments through their deep understanding of the principles
of nature. When nature is in balance, life thrives. Therefore, classic
Feng Shui uses the five elements of nature - Water, Fire, Earth,
Wood and Metal - in varying forms and combinations to create a balanced,
healthy environment. This is the science of Feng Shui.
How can Feng Shui help?
When we are in harmony with our environment there is a natural
sense of ease. Things seem to happen rather effortlessly. On the
other hand, when we are out of balance with our environment we often
have the feeling that we can't seem to get ahead, despite our best
efforts.
When is it a good time to use Feng Shui?
Feng Shui knowledge and principles should be used when you are
moving or renovating your home, starting or growing a business,
experiencing health or sleep issues, preparing to get married or
start a family, or simply when you feel like you could use some
extra support in reaching your goals.
Feng Shui principles are applied to create peace, harmony, and
overall well being in each room, shaping and redesigning the space
in a way that stimulates the movement of energy and dramatically
improves its overall feeling.
Feng Shui professionals use an eight-sided mapping tool, the Bagua,
to understand how the space is supporting each aspect of life (career,
knowledge, community, prosperity, future, relationships, creativity,
compassion and overall health). By adding specific colors, images,
and important objects to their corresponding areas we ensure the
space is fully aligned with the client's goals and intentions.
The result is a space that is truly in balance with nature - a
space that is alive and in tune with those who inhabit it. This
harmony allows everything to flourish, and is the ultimate goal
of pure Feng Shui design.
During the Feng Shui consultation, professionals pay special attention
to the areas of life where the client wants to see change and then
work to create physical spaces in the home or office that are devoted
to the client's goals - basing these areas on the Feng Shui Bagua
locations. Using colors and images representing the desired goal,
the client's space becomes filled with vision centers where dreams
can tangibly develop. Whether these areas are hidden or visible,
they will be just as powerful either way.
Over time clients have seen wonderful results from visioning in
a newly Feng Shui energized environment. With Feng Shui we have
the ability to create a personal environment that soothes, nurtures,
motivates and inspires us. When we incorporate visioning into the
process, we can literally connect to the power of Feng Shui to help
us achieve our most cherished dreams and goals.
What is the importance of Feng Shui in times of economic instability,
political unrest, and diminishing compassion? Why contemplate the
arrangement of our living room when the fate of the world is so
uncertain? Many people are simply looking for a way to feel better.
They usually talk about wanting to improve their finances, their
health or their relationships, but ultimately they just want to
feel better in their lives.
When we feel powerless over the great big world, its nice to know
that we can make a real change inside our own home. By using Feng
Shui we start to realign ourselves with our surroundings, and with
nature. As we do this, we create our own little haven of peace and
prosperity.
And the amazing thing is that it impacts the larger, often chaotic,
universe. When we have a home base that nurtures and supports us,
we are empowered to pursue our goals and dreams. As we develop the
life we want, we naturally influence and inspire our greater community.
This is why I believe that Feng Shui can improve the world, one
environment at a time.
Barbara's Feng Shui analyses and recommendations - whether residential
or corporate - focus on addressing the following seven components:
- Bring nature inside the home
- Balance yin & yang elements (connected and harmonious opposites)
- Create nurturing, smooth flowing energy throughout the home
- Balance the 5 natural elements (Earth, Fire, Metal, Water, Wood)
- Establish the person / place connection
- Stimulate living in the present
- Design the 9 environment areas to unite with the 9 major areas
of life
DID YOU KNOW?
Many of us have no idea how much clutter negatively affects us.
We often believe our clutter is an asset, or at least a potential
asset after we have sorted, organized, fixed or painted it.
Stagnant energy pools around clutter and can cause tiredness, lethargy,
depression, disharmony, dullness and feelings that our life is being
put on hold or we are unable to focus on the important things in
life.
Clearing our clutter opens the harmonious flow of energy in our
living and working environments and creates space for wonderful
new opportunities to come to us!
Clutter Defined:
- Things I don't use or love NOW
- Useful or loved things that don't belong where they are
- Anything that is unfinished
The first step in Feng Shui design is un-cluttering
the environment!
